From a water quality & bio security aspect this was the best show I have ever attended. Each persons fish were in their own purpose built vat (100 inches of fish per vat), each vat was individually filtered by way of an Evolution Aqua Easy Pod (the owners brought live K1 media from thier own systems if available), there were splash screens between each vat (to stop cross contamination) & each vat was netted. Water testing was carried out over the 2 days & no ammonia or nitrite was found in any vat ! None of the fish on show showed any signs of stress & the quality of the fish was of a very high standard.
Although turnout to the show was a little dissapointing (it was the first year & attendence should be better next year)I believe this show will go from strength to strength.
Tony Yellen is to be commended for his sterling work & attention to the Koi"s well being in putting on this show & I for one will definately be showing fish at next years event.
